The total assets of the European Central Bank (ECB) grew overall from 2012 to 2022. In 2022, ECB's total assets reached 698.85 billion euros, an almost 20 billion euro increase compared to the previous year. The ECB, based in Frankfurt am Main, is the monetary authority of the member states of the European Monetary Union. In conjunction with the national central banks of euro member states, it forms the European System of Central Banks (ESCB).
