Employment in the business services franchise industry in the United States increased steadily between 2013 and 2019, when it reached approximately 650,000. In 2020, however, the sector suffered significantly due to the COVID-19 pandemic and employment declined to 588,000. In 2023, the industry was still in recovery, with approximately 34,000 more employees than the previous year.
