Barefoot wine was the top selling table-wine brand in the United States in 2024. The brand, owned by E&J Gallo Winery, garnered sales of over 555 million U.S. dollars. The next best-selling brand was Josh Cellars, distributed by Deutsch Family Wine and Spirits, which is also the distributor for yellow tail in the United States.
Barefoot’s background
Barefoot wine was originally produced by the company Barefoot Cellars, in Modesto, California. The brand was first marketed in 1986 as a low-priced wine with a casual image. In 2005, the winemaker was purchased by E&J Gallo Winery.
