The statistic shows the share of crowdfunding platforms earning commissions based on a fully-funded goal in 2011, by region. Over 40 percent of CFPs charge a transaction fee based on a percentage commission of funds paid out, they generate revenue by charging this fee. A commission is calculated from the total funds raised, and/or based on achieving a 'fully-funded' goal. It was found that 47 percent of the crowdfunding platforms earned commission based on a fully-funded goal in North America in 2011.
