Demand for cement between 2014 and 2017 was lower due to the slowing of growth in China and a decline in oil prices that led to weaker economic activity in emerging markets. However, mature markets have since improved and are experiencing new market growth while the supply-demand balances in emerging markets are also improving. Cement prices can vary across many regions due to trade environments, input costs, and demand and supply, among other factors.
