Medicare benefit payments by type of service 2008 vs. 2018
There are three major parts of the Medicare program in the United States: Part A, Part B and Part C. Medicare is responsible for the health coverage of about 58 million people in the U.S. As of 2018 Part A provided about 41 percent of benefit payments to those under the program. This is a decrease from 50 percent in 2008.
