Get in touch with us nowAccording to a holiday shopping survey carried out in the United States in late 2024, apparel and gift cards were some of the most popular Christmas gifts shoppers were planning to buy – over half of respondents stated that they wanted to buy such goods as a present during this year's holiday season.
The amount people are willing to spend on presents depends heavily on the type of product. The most popular gifts also happened to be the categories U.S. consumers planned to spend the most on in 2023. On average, consumers in the United States planned to spend an average of 170 U.S. dollars on gift cards and certificates. In 2023, just under a third of consumers believed they would be spending more on gifts than last year.
Knowing what to buy others for the holidays can be tricky, as everyone has their own interests and the fact that it is not always apparent what friends and family might want to receive as a gift. That said, a lot of what people are buying seems to coincide with what people want; during Christmas 2023, many individuals in the United States said they would personally be happy with money gifts, vouchers or gift cards, and clothes.
