This statistic shows the leading hotel chains in the United States in 2015, by number of rooms. Holiday Inn Express ranked first among the leading U.S. hotel chains with over 166 thousand hotels rooms.
A large proportion of the hotels in the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) is made up by properties belonging to Holiday Inn Express and Holiday Inn, with 2,497 and 1,241 hotels, respectively, as of 2016. Marriott International is also expanding around the world. In 2016, the company had 569 properties in Asia Pacific, followed by 512 properties in Continental Europe.
