Combined onshore and offshore wind power capacity in the United Kingdom surpassed 30 gigawatts in 2023. While onshore wind still makes up the largest share of wind capacity, offshore farms have seen a greater growth rate in the past decade. The British government aims to reach 40 gigawatts of offshore wind capacity by 2030.
