With sales exceeding the 157 billion U.S. dollar mark, The Home Depot was the leading home improvement chain in the United States in 2022. Other large chains in the industry included Lowe’s (Home Depot’s main competitor), Tractor Supply, and Menards that year. In terms of customer satisfaction however, The Home Depot ranked third in 2023, while Ace Hardware received the highest ratings.

Home Depot is the largest home improvement retail store in the United States. The company was founded in Atlanta, Georgia in 1978. When visiting one of their stores, consumers would typically spend an average of 90.07 U.S. dollars in 2023. Lowe’s customers, on the other hand, spent about 103.51 U.S. dollars per visit.
