Hong Kong Disneyland theme park attendance 2009-2022
Hong Kong Disneyland is the world’s fifth Disney theme park and the second in Asia. Opened in September 2005, this theme park is one of the most visited destinations in Hong Kong. Before the coronavirus pandemic, the theme park recieved about six million visits. After a significant drop after the start of the pandemic, annual attendence number rose again to 3.4 million in 2022.

Hong Kong is home to a number of famous amusement parks, from Ocean Park, the second largest theme park in the city, to Core Aquapark and some smaller ones such as Snoopy World. Marine animal theme park Ocean Park, located in the south of Hong Kong island, was built in the 1970s and has been the main crowd puller for years. However, attendance at Ocean Park started to decrease in 2015. A year later, the number of visits to Disneyland surpassed the visits to Ocean Park for the first time. Today, Hong Kong Disneyland is the city’s largest amusement park and one of the major family and tourist attractions. Besides Disney character experiences, the park offers themed accommodations, dining services, and is famous for having a wide range of activities for small children.
