Mobile phone gamers in the U.S. 2011-2020

The graph presents the number of mobile phone gamers in the United States from 2011 to 2015 as well as a forecast until 2020. According to the calculations, the number of U.S. mobile phone gamers would reach 180.4 million in 2016. All in all, the source projected the numbers would grow from 80.7 million in 2011 to 213 million in 2020. On average, a U.S. gamer in 2016 was believed to have spent 77.6 U.S. dollars on mobile games. When it comes to genre preferences, the most played smartphone game genre was puzzle. Other leading genres included action, strategy and adventure. While the majority of mobile gaming occurred in leisure time, some 18 percent of U.S. gamers also admitted to playing at work, while 30 percent said they did so on the toilet. In general, 29 percent of gamers in the United States said they spent three to five hours weekly playing games on their smartphones.
