In 2019, it was found that U.S. spoken word audio content consumers most liked listening to audiobooks because they are entertaining, and 51 percent of adults listened to audiobooks to relax. Audiobooks offer consumers the opportunity to listen to spoken word audio whilst on the go, without the need to focus on reading a book in the traditional fashion, and have grown in popularity among adults of all ages in the U.S. in the last few years.
