In 2022, sporting goods, hobby, musical instrument, and book store sales amounted to 309 U.S. dollars per head of the U.S. population. The average person in the United States spent an estimated 2,200 dollars at gas stations that year, which is a noticeable jump compared to previous years. Total per capita spending for all businesses (excluding motor vehicle and parts dealers) combined amounted to more than 16,500 U.S. dollars per consumer.
