Renewables generation capacity outlook 2020-2050, by source
In the coming three decades, solar power is expected to become the largest source of renewable electricity generation worldwide, based on installed capacity. By 2050, installed solar power capacity is expected to surpass 4.6 terawatts. Wind power is expected to rank second at the time, with some 2.3 terawatts, followed by hydropower.
