Share of LGBT adults who had the following mental statuses in the U.S., 2023
In 2023, more than half of LGBT adults surveyed in the United States reported having felt anxious in the past 12 months, compared to only 22 percent of non-LGBT adults. Furthermore, the share of LGBT individuals who felt lonely and depressed was 33 percent and 32 percent, respectively, which was more than twice as high as the share of non-LGBT individuals.
