In 2023, Berkshire Hathaway’s most profitable operating business was manufacturing. Manufacturing business generated over 75.4 billion U.S. dollars in revenues. Berkshire Hathaway Primary Group and Berkshire Hathaway Reinsurance Group generated around 17.1 billion and 27 billion U.S. dollars, respectively. In the same year, GEICO, an auto insurance subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, generated a revenue of approximately 39.3 billion U.S. dollars.
