Data represent SIC group 29. Through 2000, based on Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code; beginning 2001, based on North American Industry Classification System. Profit rates are averages of quarterly figures at annual rates. Beginning 1987, excludes estimates for corporations with less than 250,000 U.S. dollars in assets.
