A September 2020 survey of U.S. and UK consumers found that 37.68 percent of respondents had scanned a QR code in a restaurant, bar, or café during the past six months. QR codes have seen an increasing use since the begin of the COVID-19 pandemic as businesses have started to use them to let customers check in and leave their contact details.
