In 2023, some 87 million Atlantic passengers traveled to or from the U.S..This was an increase of 21 percent compared to the previous year. Over the period given, this figure dropped significantly due to the travel restrictions imposed by governments to contain the spread of the coronavirus in 2020. The following year, the number of Atlantic passengers traveling to or from the U.S. started rising again. This positive trend was projected to continue until 2044, when this figure is expected to reach 159 million passengers.
