
Number of occupants killed in U.S. road traffic by vehicle type 2020
In 2020, passenger cars and light trucks had recorded the highest number of occupants killed in U.S. road traffic. More than 13,000 passenger car occupants and more than 10,000 light truck occupants were killed. Motor vehicle crashes and drug overdoses are the leading causes of death among those under the age of 55 in the United States.
