In 2021, Canada produced approximately 13.4 million metric tons of hot rolled steel products, up from just above 11 million metric tons in 2020. Canadian steel output had been impacted by the drop in demand linked to the COVID-19 pandemic, but afterward, the production levels started increasing to pre-pandemic levels.

The values for 2000 through 2011 were taken from previous editions of the publication. According to the source, hot rolled products are products of first transformation; these products may be further processed to produce cold rolled-, coated-, and tubular products (except seamless tubes).
