The value of new private sector multi-retail construction in the United States amounted to roughly 17 billion U.S. dollars in 2023. Between 2018 and 2021, the amount of construction spending decreased several years in a row, but it picked up in the years after. Multi-retail buildings constructed by the private sector in 2017 reached the value of over 24 billion U.S. dollars. Meanwhile, those figures had fallen to ten billion U.S. dollars by 2021.
