Wind is the major non hydroelectric renewable energy source in the United States. In 2023, electricity generation from wind amounted to 425.2 terawatt hours. Solar followed, with a net electricity generation of 164.5 terawatt hours. By comparison, waste electricity generation amounted to 16 terawatt hours.
