This adoption spans both personal and professional spheres, as 26 percent have employed AI in their private lives, while 22 percent have utilized it for work or studies. The integration of AI into daily life marks a significant shift in how French citizens interact with technology.
Age and gender play crucial roles in AI usage patterns across France. Younger generations are at the forefront of AI adoption, with nearly 60 percent of 18 to 24-year-olds using AI in their private lives, compared to only 25 percent of those aged 40 to 59. Similarly, men are more likely to embrace AI technology, with 30 percent using it in their personal lives versus 22 percent of women. These disparities highlight the need for targeted efforts to promote AI literacy and accessibility across all demographics.
Experience with AI significantly impacts trust levels among French citizens. Nearly 75 percent of AI users report high or moderate trust in the technology, while only 26 percent of non-users express similar confidence. This trust gap extends across age groups, with over 60 percent of 18 to 24-year-olds showing high or moderate trust in AI, compared to just 32 percent of those aged 60 to 69. Gender also influences trust levels, as 45 percent of men express high or moderate trust in AI, versus 38 percent of women. These findings underscore the importance of hands-on AI experience in building public trust and acceptance.
