According to a survey conducted in 2024, shoppers in the United States primarily use cards when making purchases on social media. About 49.4 percent of the survey respondents used debit cards when purchasing products via social media platforms, while around 47.7 percent used credit cards. PayPal was another popular payment method, it was utilized by around 39.3 percent of social buyers.
