Downloads of metaverse apps by release year 2020-2024

App releases that contain the keyword metaverse in its title or description reached its highest number in 2022 with 30 such apps released. In terms of downloads the most successful metaverse apps were released in 2019 and 2020. In 2020 only five of these apps were released, but these few releases have accumulated a download total of more than 17 million.

Newly released apps from 2019 to 2024 that contain the keyword in its title or description. The downloads are cumulative figures for the apps that were released in that year. For example six metaverse-related apps were released in 2019. Since their release these apps have accumalated 16.6 million downloads in total.

Only apps with at least 20,000 downloads were considered.
