As of April 2024, Sony's PlayStation Network (PSN) had 49 million monthly active users accounts on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 each. Additionally, there were 20 million PSN MAU on PC.
Sony has been following a multi-platform approach for its content for a few years now, and for certain PlayStation games for PC, a PSN account is necessary to access the game. Helldivers 2 is a prominent success story: the 2024 shooter title was released simultaneously on PC and console, and so far, is the most popular PlayStation video game title for PC.
