Under current policies, net greenhouse gas emissions in the United States are projected to total 4.15 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (GtCO₂e) by 2030 in a mid-emissions scenario, before dropping to 3.6 GtCO₂e by 2035. However, under a pathway in which the Trump administration repeals key climate regulations as well as repealing all components of the Inflation Reduction Act starting in 2025, U.S. GHG emissions would rise to 4.6 GtCO₂e by 2035.
