Reasons developers stay in their current jobs worldwide 2024

Developers globally had various reasons not to switch jobs and remain in their current positions. In 2024, nearly 43 percent of developers reported that they stayed at their current workplace due to respect for work-life balance. Interestingly, 37 percent of developers reported valuing their colleagues as the reason they are staying in their current positions. Meanwhile, competitive salaries and benefits along with meaningful or exciting challenges were reported by over 30 percent of developers as the reason they're not changing jobs.
