In 2024, when asked about the main challenges they faced when incorporating generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) into their cyber defense strategies, just under 40 percent of respondents worldwide highlighted the difficulty of incorporating this technology with existing systems and processes. A similar share of respondents mentioned a lack of trust in GenAI by internal stakeholders. In addition, 37 percent of respondents were concerned about the lack of standardized internal policies governing GenAI use for cyber defense purposes.
