In a 2024 survey, when asked which authentication methods they used to authenticate or login to their personal accounts, nearly 60 percent of respondents among employed adults worldwide mentioned username and password. Another 34 percent selected mobile SMS-based authentication. Just under 25 percent of respondents reported using a password manager to login to their personal accounts.
