The value of goods and services imported to Italy has gradually increased since 2021. The share of imports stabilized around 25 percent of GDP from 2013 to 2020, while it reached 32.5 percent of the Gross Domestic Product in 2023. In the same year, exports added up to 34 percent of the GDP.
