Get in touch with us nowFrom September 2023 to August 2024, 12 named storms hit the coasts of at least one country in the United Kingdom. This made this the most storm-active season since the Met Office started naming storms in 2015.
In the UK, a storm is named when it has the potential to cause disruption or damage, resulting in an amber or red warning. Five storms have already been named during the current season, with storm Éowyn being the latest, hitting Ireland and Great Britain at the end of January 2025.
