In August 2024, over four million unique devices used the Chinese AI companion application Xingye. Compared to the previous month, Zhumengdao recorded a 45 percent increase in users. Companion artificial intelligence products simulate human consumers with the user. The apps offer services that range from a digital assistant to a simulated historical figure and a romantic partner.
