In a survey conducted in 2023, about 70 percent of consumers in Malaysia stated that they would prefer vehicles with a gasoline engine for their next vehicle purchase. In comparison, 32 percent of consumers from Singapore preferred their next vehicle to have a hybrid electric engine.
