As of 2024, three of the top eight African Public Pension Funds (PPFs) were domiciled in South Africa. The nation held 186 billion U.S. dollars in assets under management (AUM) through three funds. The PIC ranked first, the SRF being ranked second and the EPPF which ranked in sixth place. The Moroccan CDG ranked in third place, having 33 billion U.S. dollars in AUM.
