Europe is the largest market for solar photovoltaic-thermal (PVT) systems worldwide. In 2023, the region accounted for roughly 64 percent of global PVT collector area. Asia followed with a share of 29 percent, including China.
Solar thermal-photovoltaic systems integrate solar photovoltaic cells and a thermal absorber, producing electricity and heat and allowing a higher energy yield per area.
