The newly installed solar photovoltaic-thermal (PVT) collector area worldwide has decreased in recent years. In 2023, the world added some 56,967 square meters of PVT collectors, down from 167,165 square meters two years earlier.
Solar thermal-photovoltaic systems integrate solar photovoltaic cells and a thermal absorber, producing electricity and heat and allowing a higher energy yield per area.
