Between 2023 and 2024, the biggest merger and acquisition deal forged in India was the joint venture entered by Walt Disney Company and Reliance Industries, worth over four billion U.S. dollars. The latter took over one of India's leading media networks, Star India Private Limited, and merged it with its own media subsidiary to form, JioStar. The next biggest deal struck was within the telecom sector, where a strategic investment of just under two billion U.S. dollars in ATC Telecom Infrastructure Private Limited was made.
