In a survey conducted in 2024 regarding Australian attitudes towards the infrastructure benefits of mining, 70 percent of respondents agreed that the mining industry has contributed to improvements in transport infrastructure in regional Australia, with 13 percent strongly agreeing. A slightly lower percentage of respondents indicated that the mining industry has also helped enhance communications and information technology infrastructure in these areas.
