In 2023, Africa exported machinery and transport equipment worth nearly 24.5 billion euros to the European Union (EU). This was the highest value in the period observed, accounting for a 19 percent increase compared to the previous year. Overall, the value of machinery and transport equipment exports has generally risen since 2014, experiencing a trough, however, in 2020.
