In 2023, one flight out of three domestic flights in Europe was operated by the European legacy carriers, while this share was 37 percent in 2019. Furthermore, in 2023, 16 percent of domestic flights in Europe were operated by the main European low-cost carriers, easyJet, Ryanair, and Wizz Air

Aer Lingus, Air France, Alitalia, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Brussels Airlines, Finnair, Iberia Airlines, KLM, LOT- Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines and TAP Portugal are defined as the legacy carriers. The remaining carriers are under the category other.
