Reasons for the use of mobile payment in Germany 2024

In 2024, 56 percent of respondents in Germany reported using mobile payment methods - cashless and contactless transactions via devices such as smartphones or smartwatches - because they found it faster and more convenient than paying with cash. Meanwhile, 27 percent stated better hygiene as their primary reason for opting for mobile payments in stores, highlighting its advantage over traditional cash transactions.
