As of 2024, the Banxico of Mexico was the second-largest central bank in Latin America managing assets in excess of 200 billion U.S. dollars. The largest bank in the region was the Banco Central do Brasil or BCBr having over 350 billion U.S. dollars in assets. The remaining 23 banks in the region managed a 103 billion U.S. dollars in assets combined.
