Latin Americans who did not use wearables for payments had security concerns or had the impression that the value wearables offer did not justify the expense. This is according to a survey conducted in seven different countries across Latin America in 2024. Some of these reasons, however, were not the same across nations. In Ecuador, respondents were concerned about making accidental transactions with a wearable device, whereas in Brazil, this reason had less weight.
