The number of exchange-traded derivatives (ETDs) contracts increased dramatically between 2019 and 2023. In particular, in 2023, the volume of exchange-traded options contracts doubled compared to the previous year, reaching nearly 110 billion. Overall, the number of ETDs increased more than sixfold between 2010 and 2023.
