In 2023, around 22.47 million car driving licenses were registered in the Central Driving License Register (ZFER) in Germany. In the same year, around 20.8 million people had a motorcycle driving license.
According to the source, not all driving license holders are registered in the Central Driver's License Register (ZFER), but only those who have held the card driving license issued since January 1, 1999. Driving licenses of drivers who still have a paper license are therefore not included in the statistic.
