In 2023, the share of electric passenger cars in the Norwegian fleet, including both plug-in hybrid and battery vehicles, stood at 28.1 percent, the highest figure among Nordic countries. In fact, electric cars accounted for nearly 90 percent of newly registered passenger vehicles in Norway that year.
Iceland had the second-highest electric passenger car penetration across the Nordics, with BEVs and PHEVs accounting for 15.6 percent of the country's passenger car fleet.
