As of January 1, 2024, around 28.48 million people had a truck driver's license. Over the timeframe under review, the figure has increased almost every year. This was also true for 2024, when numbers increased by over two million.
According to the source, not all driving license holders are registered in the Central Driver's License Register (ZFER), but only those who have held the card driving license issued since January 1, 1999. Driving licenses of drivers who still have a paper license are therefore not included in the statistics.
